Children's Residential Care Worker

Job Title: Highly Valued Children’s Residential Care Worker
Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time
Location: Kingfisher - Westoning
Compensation
- Base Salary: £34,402 - £35,025 per year
- Hourly Pay Rate: £13.45 – £13.75 (depending on qualifications)
- Overtime & Sleep Nights: Opportunities for extra shifts at an enhanced rate; typically 8 sleep nights/month included
Hours
- Standard: 173 hours per month
- Work Schedule: Long shifts (8am–11pm), 365-day service operation (fixed rotas provided in advance)

- Crisis intervention and trauma-informed therapeutic care
- Recreational activities tailored to young people’s interests (e.g. cinema visits, swimming, sports)

Responsibilities
- Support young people with complex emotional needs, trauma, and behavioural challenges
- Ensure safe, nurturing environments during shifts and care activities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to tailor care solutions
- Monitor and assess progress, contributing to personalized development plans
- Flexible availability due to 24/7 service demands
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (mandatory)
- Right to work in the UK (unfortunately, sponsorship not available)
- Must be aged 21+ years
- Passion for making a difference to children’s lives
- Sessions completed or commitment to start paid induction training
