£33k - £35k

My client is a well-known Children's Residential Care Company. Renowned in the sector.

My client believes that no child should be disadvantaged and that all children should be part of a community.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join the Children's Home in Stoke on Trent, which has been rated as GOOD with Ofsted and works extremely well with external agencies including local authorities.

In return for hard work and commitment you can expect, in addition to competitive pay and conditions and a range of benefits, to have a high-quality induction and ongoing training and development.

As the Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for deputising in the Registered Manager's absence and supporting Team Leaders and Support Workers.

The Deputy Manager Will Be

  • Support and work alongside the Registered Manager to ensure the home meets with the requirements of the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standard.
  • Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.
  • Oversee the day to day running of the Stoke on Trent home.
  • Responsible for direct supervision and support of the residential team.
  • Oversee and support the development of staff and the young people in placement.
  • Updating placement plans and risk assessments.
  • Work in partnership with local authorities, schools and families to support the young person.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, The Quality Care Standards and the SCCIF, under which each home is measured and judged against and promptly implement any recommendations or address requirements to improve the service after any Ofsted inspection.
  • To ensure that the home provides an environment that is safe and sensitive to the needs of the young people being looked after.
  • Ensure that education is promoted and supported and that each child's attendance in education is maintained.
  • Ensure that the specific needs of the young people are met, i.e. religious observance, cultural needs, dietary requirements and any medical conditions and their treatment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
