Children’s Residential Support Worker – Transform Lives at Wilderness Way (Penrith/Local Area)

This role is based in Penrith and surrounding areas. Due to flexible shift patterns, we welcome applicants from a wider region. See below for further details.

What Your Day Entails

Every day is different—dynamic, fulfilling, and deeply rewarding. Duties may include:

  • Cooking nutritious meals for children.
  • Organising playful activities outdoors, whether that’s a game of football, a craft session, or musical provisions.
  • Providing emotional support and structure in a small, close-knit team (approximately 6 members).
  • Collaborating with Managers, specialist multidisciplinary teams, and Outdoor Experts to deliver quality residential care.
  • Empowering children on their path towards long-term confidence and brighter futures.

(Workforce Neans an average of 10-11 working days per month—giving you time for work-life balance while making a difference.)


What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking enthusiastic individuals who share our passion for giving children stability and hope:

  • Experience with children:
    • Whether in youth accommodation, education, sports, B&Bs, or other relevant environments—your hands-on passion matters most!
  • Personal attributes:
    • Resilient, empathetic, and resilient—always ready for challenges, but unfazed and positive.
  • Qualifications (flexible):
    • Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce is beneficial and fully funded by us—completion will not compromise your rights to a job or worker’s rights.
    • Sufficient language and communication skills to support children;
    • A DBS Check is a requirement.
