What will I be doing as a Residential Support Worker?

Madiba is a community of loving people, dedicated to supporting and caring for young individuals aged between 7-18 years old. Our dedicated team are here to help young people through their challenges and provide them with the tools and guidance they need every single day.

  • Developing positive relationships with the young people in our care, their families and external agencies
  • Contributing to the young persons care plans and any risk assessments, supporting with implementation and reviews
  • Supporting young people with daily activities, educational needs and emotional wellbeing
  • Ensuring that good quality records are maintained as required

Previous experience is not a requirement for this role as we provide classroom training followed by 1 week of shadow shifts to ensure that you feel confident and well equipped to start your new role!

What we are looking for?

We welcome applications from people who have previous experience in a childrens residential setting or similar role

  • People who have the ability to interact with young people and manage challenging behaviours calmly
  • A full UK driving licence
  • You must also be over 21 years of age to meet industry regulations
  • Level 3 / 4 Diploma in Childrens & Young Peoples workforce would be great although this is not essential
  • Flexibility to work shifts including weekends, evenings and sleep-in duties on a rota basis - our shifts are 7:30am 11:00pm and sleep-ins 11:30pm 7:30am (paid at £50 per sleep)
