Location: Tadley, Bramley, Burghfield, Padworth (West Berkshire)
Hours: 7am - 3pm, 2pm - 10pm, 7am - 10pm (40 hours per week)
At Amegreen Children’s Services, we provide therapeutic residential care for children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in warm, nurturing homes across rural West Berkshire and Hampshire. Our teams use a trauma-informed, PACE-based approach to help young people feel safe, understood and able to grow, supported by strong clinical input and a warm, reflective staff culture.
The Role
As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you’ll be part of a close-knit team providing day-to-day care, support and guidance for children and young people living in our homes. You will work a shift rota that includes days, evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Build safe, trusting relationships with children and young people
- Support daily routines such as school, mealtimes, activities and bedtime
- Help young people develop life skills, confidence and independence
- Plan and take part in meaningful activities, from PlayStation and board games to outdoor time on the trampoline and swings
- Support trips and experiences such as the cinema, bowling, museums and days out at the seaside
- Accompany young people to school, appointments, family time and activities
- Keep clear, accurate notes to support care and safeguarding
- Work positively with colleagues, families and other professionals

About You
You will:
- Care about children’s wellbeing and want to help them feel safe and valued
- Bring strong communication skills and work well as part of a team
- Work flexibly on shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins
- Use basic IT for recording and reporting
- Be eligible to work in the UK without employer sponsorship
