£13 per hour + £50 per sleep-in

About the Role
As the Senior Support Worker (Team Leader) in Stoke on Trent, you will deputise for the Deputy Managers when absent and actively support the team of Support Workers.
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Team Leadership & Supervision
- Leading and guiding a team of care staff within a children’s residential home
- Providing mentorship, guidance, and support to staff
- Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and safeguarding regulations
- Conducting staff meetings, reviews, and performance appraisals
- Supporting with staffrotas and shift planning

Children’s Care & Support
- Ensuring the wellbeing, safety, and welfare of young people in residence
- Managing and addressing safeguarding concerns, incidents, and disclosures with appropriate actions
- Providing emotional and practical support, tailored to individual children’s needs
- Developing and maintaining personalised care plans
- Fostering independence, life skills, and positive behaviour in children

Administrative & Regulatory Obligations
- Recording incidents, daily logs, and care plans accurately
- Compliance with Ofsted standards, Children’s Home regulations, health & safety protocols
- Conducting risk assessments and monitoring adherence to legal requirements
Ideal Candidate Requirements
- Experience & Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare recommended
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in children’s residential care settings
- Prior supervisory or leadership role (potential to train and further development available)
- Up-to-date safeguarding training
- Proven understanding and implementation of child protection procedures
