Role Overview
Joining Bucks Activity Project as a Children’s Services Team Leader is a chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children aged 0–19 with disabilities and additional needs. This dynamic role supports children’s personal social, emotional, health, and independent development through engaging, inclusive activities across Buckinghamshire.
You’ll lead a passionate team, working closely with children and families, fostering a committed, proactive, and planning approach to future service delivery.

| Hours | Typically Tuesdays–Saturdays, 09:00–17:00, with one weekday evening shift (Tues/Thurs, 13:30–21:15) and 1 weekend off in every 5-week cycle |

About the Service
We deliver short breaks for children with disabilities and additional needs, offering a vibrant, engaging, and inclusive environment. Our approach centres on child-led participation—working alongside, not supervising—delivering activities such as:
- Arts & crafts
- Sensory play
- Cooking sessions
- Outdoor adventures
- Sports &Socialisation

The Role in Detail
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a dedicated team, ensuring consistent, high-quality support for children and their families.
- Design inclusive, child-centred sessions aligned with individual needs, leveraging activities like:
- Astrology & sensory play
- Team building & outdoor challenges
- Creative arts & educational experiences
- Collaborate with families and professionals across Buckinghamshire to deliver wrapped, person-centred care.
- Drive safe practice—effective risk management, COSHH, and safeguarding compliance.
- Monitor progress using a framework that captures meaningful outcomes & growth.
- Actively engage in diverse community activities—including climbing, water sports, farm visits, and beyond.

What Will Make This a Great Fit for You?
Essential
✔ Demonstrated knowledge of disabilities and excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. ✔ Level 3 Early Years Childcare qualification (or equivalent OFSTED certification) or a commitment to obtaining it funded by Action for Children. ✔ Authentically child and family-focused—strong alignment with our values and behaviours. ✔ Fully licensed driver with access to a private vehicle (due to mobility across Buckinghamshire).

Nice to Have
✔ Previous experience in childcare, social care, or disability support roles. ✔ Passion for hands-on activities—definitely not afraid of great mess (sometimes with glitter, water, or paint!).
