Position Details

  • Role: 2x Full-Time (37 hours per week), Permanent
  • Location: Riverside House, central Rotherham
  • About the Role: Join a supportive, friendly, and inclusive service dedicated to children (up to age 18), including separated migrant children, focusing on planning for transitions to adulthood and family engagement.

About You: Requirements & Expectations

You’ll meet these essential criteria and passions:

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Experience working directly with children, young people, and families (employment/volunteering).
  • Knowledge of supporting children ‘in need’ of protection/care (preferably through past social work roles or placements).
  • Ability to organise workloads independently, prioritise tasks, and demonstrate initiative in crisis situations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage sensitively with families, conflicts, and interprofessional teams.
  • Confidence to undertake home visits and multi-stakeholder meetings.
  • Understanding of Early Help / Statutory Assessments for child protection or wellbeing intervention.
  • Awareness of child welfare systems & experiences of Looked-After Children (LAC).
  • Clear, accurate reporting and ability to distill complex information for varied audiences.
  • Basic familiarity with forensic/court-based case evidence.
  • Commitment to maximising children’s life chances; heartfelt respect for safeguarding and family well-being.
