Children's Wellbeing Coordinator

Children's Wellbeing Coordinator £45,750 - £49,056 per annum Fixed term until 31/03/2027

Would you like to make a difference to children’s emotional wellbeing in one of London’s most diverse boroughs?

Newham Council is committed to early intervention, prevention and equity. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Children’s Wellbeing Coordinator to play a central role in strengthening our local emotional wellbeing and mental health support for children and young people.

This is a unique opportunity to work across Family Hubs, MASH Integrated Front Door (IFD), and the Newham Multi-Agency Collaborative (NewMAC), ensuring children and families receive the right help, at the right time, by the right service.

About the Role

As Children’s Wellbeing Coordinator, you will coordinate, identify and enhance Newham’s network of community-based wellbeing and mental health support. You will act as a key link between the council and voluntary, community and faith sector (VCFS) partners, supporting effective pathways and strong multi-agency oversight.

You will:

  • Coordinate referrals from CAMHS, MASH Integrated Front Door and Early Help into community wellbeing support
  • Provide administrative support as part of MASH Integrated Front Door (IFD)
  • Chair the NewMAC Panel, ensuring meetings are structured, outcome-focused and child-centred
  • Track and review children’s progress to ensure timely outcomes and prevent drift
  • Build strong partnerships with VCFS organisations and statutory services
  • Contribute to research, evaluation and service improvements alongside Public Health
  • Champion equitable, trauma-informed and culturally competent practice

This is a non-case-holding role focused on coordination, partnership and system improvement.

About You

You will bring:

  • Strong understanding of children’s emotional wellbeing, mental health and early intervention
  • Experience of multi-agency working within health, education, social care or community settings
  • Confidence in chairing meetings or panels and coordinating complex information
  • Excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills
  • A clear commitment to equity, inclusion and tackling disproportionality

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
