CIB and HCIB RC Infrastructure Finance and Sustainability Director - Secondment

The Role The CIB and HCIB RC Infrastructure Finance and Sustainability Director is an exciting 12-month secondment opportunity. The successful candidate will help ensure Regulatory Compliance for Infrastructure Finance and Sustainability across CIB and HCIB is effective at identifying, managing and mitigating regulatory compliance risk. Working as part of the Second line of defence you’ll provide timely advice and constructive oversight to support key business decisions across clients, transactions and products. Success means a strong control framework, clear risk-based guidance and consistent implementation of policies and regulatory change into the business. You’ll partner closely with Infrastructure Finance and Sustainability and with wider CIB Regulatory Compliance teams to strengthen and integrate risk management activity. You’ll also deputise for the Head of CIB and HCIB Regulatory Compliance Infrastructure Finance and Sustainability as required. What you'll be doing Provide regulatory compliance advice to Infrastructure Finance and Sustainability across clients, transactions and products to support informed decision making Review and challenge First line of defence activity to help ensure regulatory compliance risks are identified, managed and mitigated in line with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Maintain an effective control framework aligned to external laws and regulations, internal codes and policies and good market practice Embed risk and compliance considerations into business activity to protect and enable Infrastructure Finance and Sustainability objectives Oversee implementation of regulatory change into policies, procedures, principles and dispensations and assess impacts on the business Escalate material issues and concerns promptly to ensure timely management awareness and action Coordinate with CIB Regulatory Compliance teams to enhance, standardise and integrate risk activities including strategic projects and systems Champion governance forums and a speak-up culture that supports fair customer outcomes including for vulnerable customers What we're looking for Bring deep understanding of the Second line of defence role and what it means to act as a Risk Steward Demonstrate substantial experience advising on regulatory compliance risk across clients, transactions and products in a banking environment Apply broad and deep knowledge of Infrastructure Finance and Sustainability business activities, regulatory rules and laws and industry issues Show proven capability to maintain effective control frameworks and operate to high standards of policy and regulatory compliance Evidence strong judgement in risk-based decision-making including risk reporting and escalation in sensitive situations Demonstrate experience identifying major regulatory or statutory changes and ensuring they are implemented with clear business impact assessment Partner effectively with senior stakeholders across business and functions to align risk management activity with business priorities Maintain awareness of operational risk within an assigned portfolio including identification, assessment, mitigation, control and loss reporting Strengthening Compliance in Infrastructure Finance If you want your work to shape how major Infrastructure Finance and Sustainability decisions are made this role offers real scope.
