Cinema Floor Staff
As a key member of our cinema team, you will be the face of the venue, ensuring every guest enjoys a welcoming, memorable experience from the moment they arrive until the credits roll. You will work across our Box Office, Café and Cinema Screens, supporting colleagues to deliver outstanding guest service while maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Sales
- Welcome Guests: Provide a warm and friendly welcome, assisting guests with ticket purchases, admissions and general enquiries.
- Box Office & Concessions Service: Process ticket sales, serve food and beverages, and ensure transactions are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain excellent knowledge of current films, screenings, promotions and cinema offerings to confidently answer guest questions and recommend products or experiences.
- Upselling: Promote cinema tickets, food, beverages and retail items to enhance the guest experience while supporting business performance.
- Guest Satisfaction: Deliver consistently excellent guest service, resolving queries or concerns professionally and escalating where appropriate.
Cinema Operations
- Screen Checks: Prepare screens between performances, ensuring auditoriums are clean, safe and ready for the next showing.
- Cleaning: Maintain exceptional cleanliness throughout auditoriums, foyers, Box Office, Concession Stand and public areas.
- Stock Management: Replenish food, beverage and retail stock, ensuring displays remain well presented throughout service.
- Age Verification: Carry out ID checks for the sale of age-restricted products, including alcohol and admission to films rated 12A, 15 and 18, in line with company policies and legal requirements. Understand the legal responsibilities of yourself, the venue and the company, ensuring all age verification procedures are applied consistently and confidently.
- Payment Processing: Process cash, debit and credit card transactions in accordance with company procedures, communicating any discrepancies to the shift leader before the end of your shift.
- Venue Support: Work collaboratively across the cinema and other venue departments when required by the business.

- Sanitation: Maintain high standards of cleanliness across all guest-facing and back-of-house areas.
- Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, food hygiene and licensing regulations relevant to the role.
- Energy Consumption: Be mindful of energy usage by ensuring lights, equipment and other resources are switched off when not in use.
- Equipment Storage: Ensure cleaning equipment, stock and furniture are stored safely and correctly after use.
Appearance
- Housekeeping: Maintain excellent housekeeping standards throughout the cinema, ensuring all public areas remain clean, tidy and welcoming.
- Daily Checks: Assist with regular checks of auditoriums, foyers, Box Office and Concessions areas to ensure they meet company presentation standards.
- Cleaning Schedules: Follow cleaning schedules and complete all assigned duties in line with company procedures.
- Personal Appearance: Maintain high standards of personal presentation and hygiene at all times.
Personal Development
- E-Learning: Complete all mandatory training and e-learning modules within the required timescales.
- Brand Standards & SOPs: Become fully familiar with company brand standards and standard operating procedures to perform your role effectively.
- Cross-Department Support: Be flexible in supporting other areas of the business as operational requirements dictate.
- Development Opportunities: Take ownership of your personal development by engaging with company training and progression opportunities.
Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience in a cinema, hospitality, café, retail or customer service environment is preferred, although a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
- Passion for Film: An enthusiasm for cinema and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with guests and colleagues.
- Multitasking: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent service standards.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays in line with business requirements.
