6-Month Contract | β‘ Immediate Start
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Circuit Designer to join a critical telecoms delivery programme working alongside our client.
This is not a standard network design role. You will be designing Ethernet Access Direct (EAD) circuits into electricity substation environments, where access constraints, EMI, Earth Potential Rise (EPR), and cabinet specifications are key considerations.
If you have experience designing BT/Openreach EAD or leased-line circuits into complex or controlled sites, and you understand what it takes to deliver into utility environments, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design EAD / Ethernet access circuits for customer substation locations.
- Interpret BT/Openreach survey outputs, task sheets, and site constraints.
- Assess circuit feasibility considering EMI, EMC, EPR, fibre/copper suitability, and access limitations.
- Specify EMC cabinets (45U), ventilation, gland plates, cable entry, and site-specific requirements.
- Produce practical HLD / LLD / implementation design packs and as-built documentation.
- Work with BT/Openreach, field engineers, commissioning teams, and cabinet suppliers.
- Identify and escalate design gaps, site-readiness issues, and delivery risks early.
- Ensure designs are ready for Acceptance Into Live Support (AILS) .

Iβm in my final year doing Economics and I donβt know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer β it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donβt need a masters. Letβs look at the ones youβd be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
Youβve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon β deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme β client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right β and where to focus when applying.
What You'll Bring
Mandatory Experience:
- Hands-on experience designing BT/Openreach EAD, Ethernet access, or leased-line circuits.
- Strong understanding of the BT/Openreach delivery lifecycle (survey, order validation, provisioning, wayleaves, site readiness).
- Ability to produce implementation-ready design packs (HLDs, LLDs, as-built documentation).
- Experience interpreting site surveys, task sheets, and technical constraints.
- Strong documentation discipline and stakeholder coordination skills.
Highly Desirable:
- Awareness of EMI / EMC requirements and Earth Potential Rise (EPR) risks in substation environments.
- Experience delivering telecoms into utilities, substations, power, rail, or industrial sites.
- Knowledge of telecoms cabinet / rack requirements, including EMC cabinets, gland plates, filters, and ventilation.
- Experience with fibre access design and circuit routing.
Technical Knowledge Required
- EAD / Ethernet Access - Circuit topology, NTE, access handoff, demarcation, routing.
- BT/Openreach Process - Survey outputs, order validation, route feasibility, civils, provisioning.
- Substation Environments - Access restrictions, safety constraints, electrical interference.
- EMI / EMC - How electromagnetic interference affects cable routing, copper usage, shielding, and cabinet specification.
- Earth Potential Rise (EPR) - Why EPR creates risk and when specialist assessment is required.
- Fibre vs Copper - Practical design implications in high-voltage / EMI-sensitive locations.
- Cabinet Design - EMC rack/cabinet standards, ventilation, gland plates, cable entry.

- HLD / LLD Pack β Practical design documentation for delivery and implementation teams.
- Cabinet / Rack Requirement Validation β Confirmation that cabinet design meets EMC, ventilation, and site requirements.
- BoM / Task Mapping β Mapping of PT task requirements to materials and activities.
- Risk and Issue Log β Early identification of EMI, EPR, survey, site-readiness, or installation risks.
- As-Built / Handover Inputs β Circuit references, diagrams, inventory updates, and support notes for Acceptance into Live Service (AILS).
