Wintel / Citrix SME (Contract)
Contract Details
- Duration: Initial 3-month contract with scope for extension
- Rate: Up to £600pd (Inside IR35 via Umbrella company)
- Location: Largely remote with occasional travel to a hub
- Start: ASAP
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Citrix Subject Matter Expert to support a leading financial services client in a hands-on engineering role, covering a large-scale, multi-site Citrix environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across a large enterprise Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (CVAD) estate, ensuring maximum platform stability and availability.
- Deliver Windows Server patching, upgrades, and maintenance, including pre- and post-patching validation across the Wintel infrastructure.
- Diagnose and resolve production incidents related to Citrix, Windows Server, and patch management.
- Contribute to Citrix platform migration, including testing, validation, and technical implementation.
- Collaborate with Change Management teams to plan, execute, and document infrastructure changes.
- Monitor and maintain Citrix estate performance and resilience, including multi-site environments and NetScaler Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB) configurations.
- Provide hands-on technical expertise across Wintel and Citrix estates, identifying opportunities for platform stability and operational efficiency improvements.

Key Skills & Experience
- Proven Citrix SME experience in financial services (ideally banking industry).
- Strong understanding of enterprise Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (CVAD), Citrix ADC/NetScaler, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Hyper-V.
- Enterprise patch management, migration, and production troubleshooting expertise.
- Familiarity with profile management technologies, such as FSLogix or Citrix User Profile Management (UPM).
- Proactive engineering mindset with the ability to work in business-critical environments.
