About the Role
We are hiring a City Fleet Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Autonomous Vehicles (AV) fleet in London. This hands-on, operational role focuses on:
- Managing depot activities to ensure fleet readiness
- Collaborating with the Lyft Autonomous TV Business Unit and partners for efficient, safe operations
This position reports to the Senior Fleet Manager, Europe, and translates fleet strategy into on-ground execution, including:
- Coordinating depot operations
- Ensuring vehicles are prepared for safe, timely deployment

Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations & Fleet Management
- Manage the London depot, overseeing:
- Charging, cleaning, staging, inspections, and efficient vehicle turnaround
- Identifying and implementing new infrastructure to support fleet expansion
- Own vehicle road-readiness by:
- Planning, approving, and executing vehicle deliveries from AV partners
- Ensuring all vehicles are registered, licensed, and well-maintained
- Implement and continuously improve core processes, holding the team accountable to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Plan and manage:
- Local staffing, shift and rota coordination
- Depot capacity to align with fleet volume and demand
- Drive operational excellence, focusing on:
- Reducing cost per vehicle
- Enhancing efficiency, safety, and performance

Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- London transport regulations (e.g. Transport for London, DVSA)
- AV partner safety and environmental standards
- Embed a safety-first culture across the depot and partner workforce
Vendor & Stakeholder Relations
- Manage daily interactions with vendors and third-party suppliers, including:
- SLA delivery oversight and billing reconciliation
- Resolving operational escalations as London’s first point of contact
Team Growth & Scaling
- Contribute to local operations as the business scales, including:
- Participating in recruitment and team coordination
- Building a performance-driven, collaborative environment
Essential Requirements
Experience & Expertise
- Fluent in hands-on fleet or asset-heavy mobility operations, with strong process discipline
- 4+ years working in:
- Fleet Management
- Asset-heavy mobility, logistics, EV fleets, or depot operations
- Preferred: High-growth tech or automotive sectors
- Proven track record of:
- Running depots or managing vehicle fleets
- Exposure to autonomous vehicle operations is a plus
Leadership & Operational Skills
- Skilled at building and enforcing SOPs, driving streamlined workflows
- Fast-paced problem-solving, capable of utilising data analytics to optimise operations
- Experience managing third-party relationships against clear SLAs and quality standards
- Strong familiarity with UK transport/regulatory environments (TfL, DVSA) is advantageous
