Civil CAD Technician Leeds - Hybrid Permanent – Full Time Salary Competitive (DOE) & Flexible Benefits Role Purpose: The Technician is responsible for the production of accurate, consistent, and controlled digital technical information in support of project delivery. Working within a discipline team and the wider Technical Drawing Office workgroup, the role focuses on developing models and graphical outputs that correctly reflect design intent, comply with agreed standards, and support coordination and construction activities. The Technician contributes directly to live project delivery, operating within defined production and quality processes to ensure information is reliable, coordinated, and fit for purpose. This is a hands-on production role requiring strong attention to detail, technical competence, and an understanding of how digital information is used beyond design, including coordination, construction, and handover. Some of the key deliverables in this role will include: Digital Information Production Produce discipline-specific digital information, including models and associated graphical outputs, in line with project requirements and instructions. Develop outputs that accurately reflect approved design intent and engineering decisions. Ensure information is suitable for coordination and downstream use, not just internal design review. Update models and drawings in response to design changes, coordination feedback, and review comments. Standards and Controlled Production Apply agreed drawing, modelling, and presentation standards consistently across all outputs. Use approved templates, title blocks, model structures, and configuration settings. Follow established production workflows and Technical Drawing Office procedures. Maintain consistency across deliverables, packages, and revisions throughout the project lifecycle. Coordination Support Support coordination activities by responding to coordination comments, clash outputs, and required updates. Work under the direction of the Senior Technician to address coordination and quality issues. Ensure discipline outputs integrate correctly with other project information. Identify and raise potential clashes, inconsistencies, or buildability concerns. Quality and Accuracy Carry out self-checks prior to review and issue. Correct errors and omissions identified through checking, coordination, or review processes. Maintain accurate revision control and ensure superseded information is not reused. Take responsibility for the accuracy and quality of own outputs. Collaboration and Development Work closely with engineers, designers, and other technicians within the discipline. Engage positively with feedback and direction from Senior Technicians. Develop technical skills, software capability, and understanding of project workflows. Contribute to a collaborative, professional, and delivery-focused working environment. Does this sound like a role you have envisaged yourself in?
