About the Role:
Our client is looking for an experienced Civil Design Engineer to join a highly skilled Design & Advanced Technology team delivering innovative engineering solutions across the UK water sector. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects that have a real impact on the UK's critical water network. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality technical designs throughout the project lifecycle, working alongside industry-leading engineers and supporting some of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes.
About Our Client:
Our client is a leading engineering consultancy delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally. They specialise in providing innovative engineering solutions throughout the design, delivery and construction phases, supporting major programmes within the water sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage Civil Design Engineers delivering technical design work on complex multidisciplinary projects.
- Produce and review technical deliverables including design reports, calculations, drawings and scopes of work.
- Deliver high-quality civil engineering designs in accordance with relevant UK standards, project requirements and industry best practice.
- Provide technical input into project design deliverables, working closely with project management teams to successfully deliver projects against key milestones and budgets.
- Collaborate with clients, operational teams and multidisciplinary engineering colleagues across the UK and overseas.
- Mentor and support less experienced engineers, helping to develop technical capability within the team.
- Work independently with minimal technical guidance, applying engineering judgement to solve complex design challenges.
- Provide technical support for bid proposals and tender submissions.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures, including checking and reviewing design outputs.

What Our Client is Looking For:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineer.
- Proven experience delivering civil engineering design within a consultancy environment.
- Experience coordinating or managing civil design teams within multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong technical knowledge and practical experience in pipeline design, including construction, rehabilitation, condition assessment, commissioning, operation and maintenance.
- Good understanding of current UK and international design codes, standards and CDM Regulations.
- Experience using relevant digital design and analysis packages, including HADES and Varism.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across multidisciplinary teams.
- A proactive and collaborative approach with strong problem-solving skills.

Eligibility:
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and hold the relevant professional engineering qualifications. Experience within the UK water sector and knowledge of current design standards is essential.
