Civil Design Engineer / Senior Civil Design Engineer

Civil Engineer / Senior Civil Engineer

Location: Abingdon
Salary: Up to £52,000 (DOE)
Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Civil Engineer / Senior Civil Engineer

A well-established and growing engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Civil Engineer or Senior Civil Engineer to join its infrastructure team in Abingdon.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to broaden their experience across a range of development and infrastructure projects while working within a supportive team that actively encourages professional development and progression. Whether you're an established Engineer ready for the next step or already operating at Senior level, the business can offer exposure to projects from pre-planning through to detailed design and construction.

The Role

You'll be working as part of a multidisciplinary design team delivering infrastructure solutions across a variety of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.
The role will involve drainage and highway design, preparing technical designs and reports, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, and supporting projects through planning, detailed design and construction stages. You'll have the opportunity to manage smaller projects independently while contributing to larger schemes alongside senior colleagues.
For more experienced candidates, there will be opportunities to mentor junior engineers and technicians, review technical work and take increasing ownership of project delivery.
The business actively encourages engineers to gain experience across multiple sectors and disciplines, helping develop well-rounded engineers with strong technical and commercial understanding.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
