The Opportunity
You’ll work within a collaborative civil/structural environment, interleaving with architects, structural teams, and other specialisms. Projects include:
- Building-related civils and below-ground infrastructure
- Urban developments (highways, drainage, external works)
- Urban infrastructure schemes, from feasibility to detailed design

Key Responsibilities
- Design civil engineering solutions across development and infrastructure projects
- Lead:
- Drainage systems (surface water, foul drainage)
- Roadway and external works tied to structural/building-led schemes
- S278/S38 highway packages and their approval processes
- Produce technical documentation:
- Calculations
- Technical drawings
- Detailed reports
- Collaborate on:
- Structural engineering
- Architectural teams
- Contractor peers
- Cross-discipline project delivery
- Foster sustainable design, e.g.:
- Suppression of Surface Water (SuDS)
- Low-carbon infrastructure
- Operate industry-standard tools:
- Civil 3D
- Causeway Flow
- AutoCAD
Requirements for the Role
- Qualifications:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline
- Experience:
- Several years in a UK civil consultancy
- Strong background in:
- Drainage design
- Highways/external works
- Building-related civils
- Awareness of:
- S278/S38 design protocols
- Personality & Mindset:
- Proactive, collaborative outlook
- Commitment to technical growth
- Motivation to progress towards professional Chartership (additional support available)
