We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Designer to support the planning, design, and delivery of civil engineering projects, predominately in water and waste treatment and other allied industries.

The successful candidate will produce technical drawings, layouts, and design documentation for infrastructure, water and waste treatment, drainage, utilities, earthworks, and other similar projects. Working closely with engineers, project managers, and clients, the Civil Designer will ensure designs meet project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings, plans, and models using CAD and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Solidworks).
  • Develop designs for process treatment, drainage systems, utilities, earthworks, and site infrastructure.
  • Assist in the preparation of calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction documentation.
  • Interpret survey data, geotechnical reports, and engineering requirements to support design development.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant legislation, standards, regulations, and client specifications.
  • Coordinate design activities with engineers, contractors, utility providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Review and update drawings throughout project lifecycles, incorporating design changes and client feedback.
  • Support project planning, feasibility studies, and cost estimation activities.
  • Conduct site visits as required to gather information and verify design requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and quality assurance processes.
  • Maintain accurate project records and document control procedures.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
