CIVIL ENFORCEMENT OFFICER Ipswich Borough Council Ipswich, Suffolk IP1 2DE | £30,518 - £32,961 per annum | 37 hours per week (shift rota) Reference: 0792 (Required as soon as possible)
About the Role
Ipswich Borough Council invites applicants to join its fast-paced and expanding Parking Services Team. Two Civil Enforcement Officers are needed to help create a safer, more accessible town by ensuring compliance with parking regulations. Your work will reduce congestion and improve accessibility for residents, businesses, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
As a Civil Enforcement Officer, your core duties include:
- Issuing Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) fairly and consistently across:
- Restricted parking areas
- Council car parks
- On-street pay and display bays
- Resident Parking Zones
- Vehicle immobilisation and removal (where necessary)
- Patrolling on foot and in a company vehicle, working across varied environments including public high streets
- Following a 3-week shift rota, including evenings and weekends, in all weather conditions

The role involves manual handling and requires physical fitness, sales competence, problem-solving skills, emotional resilience, and strong customer service abilities.
About You

- Exemplify exceptional customer service skills
- Operate independently and collaboratively with the team
- Standard DBS check is mandatory for this role.
