Civil Engineer (Building Design) | Contract | Hybrid
Locations: Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff or Birmingham
📅 Contract: Initial 6-Month Contract (Potential Extension)
Hybrid Working: Minimum 3 days per week in the office | 37.5 hours per week
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to join a multidisciplinary Building Design team, delivering infrastructure solutions for a diverse portfolio of building projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on projects from concept through to detailed design, collaborating with architects, structural engineers and MEP teams to deliver innovative, sustainable and practical engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver civil engineering designs for a variety of building developments.
- Design drainage, highways, roads, car parks, utilities, earthworks and external works.
- Produce engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings and specifications.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams to deliver coordinated designs.
- Manage your workload to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Ensure designs comply with UK standards, regulations and quality procedures.
- Work within BIM environments using Digital Plan of Work and BIM Execution Plans.
- Liaise with clients, architects, contractors and statutory authorities where required.
- Support continuous improvement and digital engineering initiatives.

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification/experience).
- Minimum of 5 years' civil engineering design experience.
- Experience delivering infrastructure design for building developments.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Surface & foul water drainage
- Roads & car parks
- Utilities
- Earthworks
- External infrastructure
- Proficient in Civil 3D, AutoCAD and InfoDrainage/Flow.
- Strong understanding of current UK design standards.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Working towards ICE Chartership (or equivalent).

Desirable
- Chartered Engineer (CEng).
- Experience obtaining statutory approvals.
- Knowledge of Revit and BIM 360.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Eligible for UK Security Clearance.
