About the Role

Barker Associates is an award-winning, employee-owned, multi-disciplinary property consultancy and trusted advisor, specialising in Architecture and Design, Project Management, Surveying, Engineering, and Energy and Sustainability. Based in the UK, we deliver innovative solutions from concept to delivery and beyond, embedding sustainability at the core of every project across all sectors.

We are now seeking a Civil Engineer to join our team and develop their career while contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects. The role may be based at our Braintree or London offices or operate on a hybrid model, subject to business requirements.

As part of our team, you will support the delivery of civil engineering services with technical expertise, collaborate on multi-disciplinary projects, and ensure compliance with all design standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop technical designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Prepare calculations and hydraulic models with senior support.
  • Conduct infrastructure inspections and draft technical reports.
  • Produce project documentation and final issue drawings.
  • Attend meetings, including pre-contract visits and client briefs.

Requirements

  • A Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, InfoDrainage, and Civil 3D.
  • Commitment to progressing towards EngTech, IEng, or CEng with MICE.
  • A full clean driving licence and access to a private vehicle (travel required).
  • Must undergo a DBS Enhanced check.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
