About The Division

The Water Utilities Division is Mott MacDonald’s centre of excellence for addressing UK and Ireland’s water and wastewater challenges. Our mission ensures safe water supplies, flood resilience, and environmental health—vital for sustainable communities.

We specialise in full-project lifecycle services, from feasibility studies and design to construction support, commissioning, and handover. Teams deliver innovative, compliant solutions across:

  • Water treatment
  • Water distribution and storage
  • Wastewater drainage and recycling
  • Desalination

Working with leading UK water utility companies and governmental/organisational partners, we offer highly collaborative environments for professional development in technically demanding fields.

Candidate Specification

Essential Requirements

  • Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Practical experience in water or wastewater engineering design.
  • Strong written/oral communication skills.
  • 嚴格理解 of health, safety, and environmental principles in projects.
  • Proactive adaptability—ability to manage changing priorities with confidence.

Desirable Attributes

  • Chartership progress (Working towards CEng/MICE etc.).
  • Advanced digital proficiency (key tools: AutoCAD, Revit, Mott MacDonald systems).
  • Project management experience (or a willingness to develop skills).
