AECOM is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our hybrid team across London and Basingstoke. This opportunity will allow you to:

  • Advance your career by supporting/leading projects across site due diligence, masterplanning, detailed design, and construction support
  • Gain increasing responsibility in both technical delivery and project management
  • Work on diverse projects for public/private sectors, including residential, commercial, industrial, education, leisure, defence, healthcare, and government segments

Collaborate closely with civil engineers, ground engineers, structural engineers, MEP (mechanical/electrical/plumbing) teams, architects, project managers, environmental specialists, and surveyors across the UK and internationally.


Key Responsibilities

Technical and Project Leadership

  • Survey Support:
    • Prepare and review survey specifications, including utilities and topographical assessments
  • Design & Concept Development:
    • Review/check studies, assessments, and conceptual designs for drainage, highways, utilities, earthworks, and flood risk
  • Infrared & Multidisciplinary Delivery:
    • Contribute to designs for highways, drainage, and infrastructure in complex, multidisciplinary developments
  • Regulatory & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Liaise with regulatory bodies and key stakeholders to secure approvals and ensure compliance
  • Bid & Proposal Contributions:
    • Assist with tender submissions and client-facing meetings
    • Present technical solutions confidently

Requirements

Essential Requirements

✔ Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering ✔ 3+ years’ experience in UK development-led infrastructure (preferably from a consulting/private sector) ✔ Proficient in Industry-standard software, i.e.,:

  • InfoDrainage
  • Civil 3D ✔ Technical proficiency in designing:
  • Road geometry
  • Pavements
  • Underservicest
  • Highway/access road design
  • Drainage networks
  • Earthworks ✔ Commitment to Chartership, working towards MICE membership ✔ Full access to appropriate UK visa status (if applicable)
