Civil Engineer
Civil Engineer – Building Design
This position forms part of a national Building Design Practice within a growing Civil Engineering team. The role is non-location specific, offering the flexibility to work remotely or on-site at any of the company’s UK offices.
This challenging and rewarding opportunity allows you to apply your knowledge, experience, and problem-solving skills while providing strong career development prospects. Seeking a practically-minded Civil Engineer eager to develop expertise across civil engineering structures, drainage design, utilities, and pavement design.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the delivery of small to medium infrastructure projects as part of a technically focused design team
- Produce high-quality project designs aligned with relevant design standards and codes
- Ensure provision of efficient and effective engineering services
- Manage personal time effluent by deadlines
- Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary design team
- Comply with Quality and Technical Assurance Procedures
- Work in compliance with BIM standards, Digital Plan of Work, and project-specific BIM Execution Plans

Essential Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
✅ 5+ years of experience as a Civil Engineer, preferably within the building and infrastructure sector. ✅ Honours degree in Civil Engineering (preferred), or HND or equivalent experience. ✅ Progressing towards ICE Chartership. ✅ Hands-on experience in the design and analysis of:
- Drainage and utilities
- Paved & unpaved surfaces
- Earthworks and access design
- Construction logistics & accessibility
Technical & Software Proficiency
✅ Drainage design experience (e.g., hydrology, water flow) ✅ Familiarity with drainage/flow software ✅ Roads and car park design experience ✅ Proficient in AutoCAD & Civils 3D ✅ Revit and BIM 360 knowledge (desirable)

Desirable Requirements
🔹 Experience in statutory approvals and regulatory compliance 🔹 Worked on small-scale building projects 🔹 ICE-Chartered status 🔹 Ability to work unsupervised 🔹 Valid driving license (though not mandatory)
