Civil Engineer (Building Design)

Sector: Infrastructure / Building Design

Contract Length: Initial 6 months (Extensive pipeline / workload extension potential)

Rate: £55 per hour (Negotiable depending on experience)

Location: Flexible / Hybrid (3 days a week in-office. Hubs include: Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff, and Birmingham)

Engagement: On Payroll / PAYE Temp

Vetting Level: Vetting Level B (SC Clearance potential)

Are you a skilled Civil Engineer with a knack for infrastructure design within the building sector? Looking to jump onto a fresh, long-term contract with one of the world's leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancies?

We are seeking a practically minded, technically sharp Civil Engineer to join a growing national Building Design Practice. You will be contributing to small-to-medium infrastructure projects, delivering high-quality engineering services across drainage, roads, and utilities.

  • Design Delivery: Produce efficient, high-quality infrastructure designs (drainage, pavement, utilities, and earthworks) in accordance with UK standards and codes.
  • Digital Excellence: Work in full compliance with BIM standards, Digital Plans of Work, and project BIM Execution plans.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with a multidisciplinary design team to deliver complex, unique projects.
  • Quality Assurance: Adhere strictly to Technical Assurance and Quality procedures.

What We Are Looking For (Essential):

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Civil Engineer, ideally with a strong focus on the Buildings/Property sector rather than massive major highways or heavy rail.
  • Software Toolkit: Hands-on proficiency with MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage / Flow software and Autodesk Civils 3D (AutoCAD is a must; Revit / BIM 360 is highly desirable).
  • Technical Focus: Proven track record in drainage design, access/accessibility, car parks, and roads.
  • Qualifications: An Honours Degree in Civil Engineering (or HND with equivalent experience). Ideally working towards or already achieved Chartership with the ICE.

Bonus Points if You Have:

  • Experience managing statutory approvals and dealing directly with regulators.
  • The capability to work autonomously and unsupervised on small-scale building infrastructure.
  • An active Driving License.
