The Opportunity

We partner with leading water clients across the UK’s South region, delivering some of the industry’s largest and most iconic water projects. Our work is informed by a community-centric approach, minimising environmental impacts while enhancing social outcomes. We enable the delivery of sustainable development and climate-resilient infrastructure.
In the High Wycombe, London, and Reading offices, we support clients in projects spanning:
- Water & wastewater treatment
- Water & wastewater networks
- Storm water overflows
- Urban drainage
Our pipeline encompasses challenging work across the project lifecycle, including:
- Asset planning & strategy
- Concept design
- Outline design
- Detailed design
- Major Design and Build projects (partnered with contractors)
Our UK-wide team builds sustainability and community-focused infrastructure, setting new benchmarks for environmental impact.

For an experienced Senior Civil Engineer passionate about high-impact projects, we are looking to expand our teams in High Wycombe, Reading, or London—all locations benefit from proximity to railway stations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the civil engineering design of projects.
- Collaborate with project design leads to deliver successful outcomes.
- Mentor and develop our junior engineering team.
- Utilise Stantec’s global expertise to revolutionise innovative designs.

About You
This role is ideal for engineers with:
- Design experience within the UK water industry (or related sectors).
- A degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline.
- Ideally, achievement (or near-completion) of professional accreditation (e.g., ICE or CIWEM).
Experience & Requirements
- A mentalité for water & environmental sustainability.
- A track record of successfully delivering projects.
- Experience leading teams, collaborating innovatively, and driving strategic problem-solving.
- Proven comfort with client-facing leadership, managing relationships and collaboration effectively.
