Senior Civil Engineer – Water (Design & H2O Markets) | South Region
The Opportunity
Following a period of record-breaking growth, Stantec’s Water division is entering an ambitious new era. For 2026 and beyond, we are expanding our South Region teams to meet the challenges of climate change head-on.
We aren't just consultants—we are partners to the UK’s top water clients. From iconic large-scale infrastructure to intricate urban drainage solutions, we design with a simple promise: community first.
Joining our teams in High Wycombe, Reading, or Cambridge (all prime locations just a short stroll from the train station), you will immerse yourself in the full project lifecycle:
- Diverse Pipeline: Tackle everything from asset planning and strategy to concept, outline, and detailed design.
- Design & Build: Collaborate directly with contractor partners on major design & build projects, moving from the screen to real-world implementation.
- Project Scope: Lead civil engineering design across Water/Wastewater treatment, networks, stormwater overflows, and sustainable urban drainage.

About You
You are a passionate engineer who doesn’t just want to “do the math”—you want to solve the problem.
- Experienced: You bring a solid track record of design experience within the UK water industry.
- Qualified: You hold a degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and are ideally Chartered or Incorporated (ICE, CIWEM, or similar).
- Collaborative: You enjoy working alongside project leads and have a natural knack for mentoring developing engineers.
- Innovative: You’re ready to look past traditional methods to find sustainable, efficient solutions for our clients.
