Contract: Full-time Internship / Placement Year
Locations: Swansea, Chester, Glasgow
About The Role
Binnies, an RSK Group company, is seeking Civil Engineering Placement Students to join our Water Services team. You will work on a range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, supporting the design, planning, and delivery of sustainable and resilient solutions for communities across the UK.
This is a hands-on placement where you will be treated as a valued member of the Water Services team. You’ll receive structured training, mentoring, and ongoing support to develop your technical and professional skills while completing your degree.
For high-performing placement students, there is strong potential to progress into a graduate role within the Water Services team upon successful completion of the placement and degree.
The role is primarily office-based, with opportunities for site visits and occasional travel within the UK.

Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Water Services team with engineering tasks
- Assisting with calculations, analysis, and spreadsheets
- Contributing to reports, technical documents, and drawings
- Supporting project delivery for water and wastewater schemes
Essential Requirements
You must be able to demonstrate:
- Current study towards a degree in Civil Engineering
- Strong interest in water and wastewater infrastructure
- Good numerical ability and confidence using spreadsheets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and ability to work well in a team
- Interest in sustainable and resilient water solutions
