Civil Engineer/Technician

Civil Engineering Technician / Graduate Engineer

Location: Gloucester

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Civil Engineering Technician or Graduate Engineer to join our growing Civil Engineering team based in Gloucester.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of exciting projects across the commercial, residential, retail, industrial, education, and leisure sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of infrastructure design solutions, supporting projects from initial concept through to construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the design and delivery of external works and infrastructure projects.
  • Preparing drainage strategies and detailed drainage designs, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).
  • Undertaking hard landscaping and pavement design.
  • Supporting the development of highways and road infrastructure designs.
  • Producing technical drawings and design information using AutoCAD and industry-standard software.
  • Providing technical support and advice to clients, contractors, and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will hold an HND or degree in Civil Engineering and have an interest in developing a career within infrastructure design. Experience or familiarity with the following would be advantageous:

  • MicroDrainage / Causeway Flow software.
  • KTF software.
  • Drainage design and SuDS principles.
  • Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs).
  • Highway and road design.
  • DMRB and Specification for Highway Works.
  • Highway and drainage section agreements (Sections 38, 278 and 104).
