  • Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum + pension, professional fees etc.

  • Location: UK – Yorkshire & Humberside, Leeds, West Yorkshire
  • Experience Required: 2+ years post-graduation

THE ROLE

  • A firm of engineering consultants is seeking a Civil Technician with recent university-level experience.
  • Preferred knowledge: AutoCAD and Civils 3D proficiency; design calculation verification; site compliance tasks.
  • Scope of work: Engineering consulting for:
    • Building projects (offices, retail, residential, industrial)
    • Infrastructure & transportation (roads, drainage, site reviews).

THE COMPANY

THE CANDIDATE

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years as a civil technician.
  • Direct experience with:
    • Local roads/motorway design (residential, commercial).
    • Underground drainage systems (HR Wallingford, CIRIA, or local authority standard compliance).
    • Statutory stakeholder liaison (e.g. water companies, local authorities, Environment Agency).
  • Technical proficiencies:
    • Advanced Civils 3D and AutoCAD usage.
    • Engineering calculations (design/verification tasks).
    • Maintaining drawing/report quality (consistency and professionalism).
  • Must be employment-ready within a UK-based consulting engineering firm.

Essential Personal Skills

  • Full, clean UK driving licence (required for remote site visits).
  • Strong communication skills (client/contractor liaison during construction and project review).

Salary & Benefits

  • £30,000-£40,000 (negotiable based on experience level).
