Role Description
The Civils Manager – Water is a full-time, on-site role based in Sheerness, overseeing civil works related to water infrastructure projects from planning through completion on our CSL contract. The role includes managing site activities, coordinating resources, supervising civil teams, and ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, and to specification. Daily responsibilities involve:

The Civils Manager – Water will liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, prepare reports, support stormwater and drainage solutions, and ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental standards. The role also involves promoting best practices, mentoring team members, and contributing to continuous improvement in project delivery.
Qualifications
- Strong Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination of civil water projects.
- Expertise in Water Management (ideally Thames Water network) and water-related civil infrastructure. CSL (Customer Side Leakage) experience would be ideal.
- Effective Team Leadership capabilities, with experience supervising site personnel and fostering a safety-focused culture.
- Skills in Inspection and quality assurance, ensuring works meet design, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Infrastructure-related experience, preferably in water.
- Relevant engineering or construction qualification (e.g., degree or diploma in civil engineering or construction management) is beneficial.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and ability to apply them in daily site management.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and documentation.
- Proficiency in using project management and site reporting software is advantageous.
- Professional certifications or memberships in relevant engineering or construction bodies are an asset.
