Civils Skilled Operative - Section 81 Works
We are delighted to announce a major new contract win with Welsh Water, supporting them over the next four years and beyond, delivering proactive and reactive maintenance of their Wastewater Network.
We’re now recruiting a Civils Skilled Operative - Section 81 Works to join our North and Central Wales teams. This is a great opportunity to build a long‑term career with Sapphire Utility Solutions and Lanes Group
About The Role
- Location: Kimnel Bay
- Hours: 47.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, 7am-5pm, flexibility is required
- Enhanced Overtime Rates
- Salary: up to £13.25 per hour depending on experience
- Weekly pay

Responsibilities
- Carry out groundwork tasks such as digging trenches, laying pipes, spot repairs and preparing surfaces for construction.
- Install and maintain over-pumping systems and maintain safe excavations with installation of ground support
- Updating and completing site documentation using electronic tablet
- Operate machinery and tools safely and efficiently to assist with various tasks
- Perform daily vehicle checks and maintenance to ensure roadworthiness

What We Are Looking For
Whilst we are looking for the skills and knowledge to be able to carry out the responsibilities of the role it’s just as important to have employees with a positive and caring attitude or those who are looking for develop further and grow with the group.
Experience And Qualifications
- Full UK driving license (Required), with no more than 6 penalty points
- Training will be NPORS, Banksman, Manual Handling, Emergency First Aid, NRSWA, EUSR National Water Hygiene, Asbestos Awareness, Slinger and Signaller, Abrasive Wheels, Calm Water, EUSR Safe Dig – Cat & Genny, EUSR Water, Face Fit Tested – FFP3
