Role Description
The Civils & Utilities Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Sheerness, responsible for overseeing civil engineering and utility works across projects. This role involves:
- Planning and managing site activities on the water contract
- Coordinating contractors and internal teams
- Ensuring project milestones are met safely, on time, and within budget
- Monitoring progress
- Reviewing technical drawings and specifications
- Managing resources
- Maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and company standards

Day-to-day tasks include:

- Supervising site operations
- Resolving technical and operational issues
- Liaising with stakeholders
- Preparing reports
- Supporting continuous improvement in processes and performance
The role also requires active participation in health, safety, and environmental initiatives, fostering a culture of safety and quality on site.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in civil engineering or utilities management, with the ability to oversee site works and infrastructure projects.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Knowledge of construction standards, utility installation practices, and relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
- Proven leadership abilities, including team supervision, performance oversight, and promoting a positive, safety-focused culture.
- Competence in using project documentation, technical drawings, and basic digital tools or software related to project and site management.
- Relevant professional qualification or degree in civil engineering, construction management, utilities engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working on-site in a similar role; prior experience in the Sheerness area or similar environments is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt to changing site conditions, solve problems proactively, and make informed decisions under time constraints.
