Nurse Practitioner

Band 6 - 33.75 Hours per week - Permanent

Hospital at Night, ARI

An opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner has arisen within the Hospital at Night Team within the Division of Medicine and Unscheduled Care in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. We are seeking a suitably motivated colleague to join our well-established team on a permanent basis. Training will be provided to achieve Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Clinical Practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work Predominantly at Night: The successful applicant will be expected to work predominantly nights, with some expectation to work days when needed to represent the team’s attendance at daytime meetings or events such as supporting our medical colleagues’ induction.
  • Registered Nurse: You will be a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and hold relevant acute post registration experience.
  • Advanced Practice Skills: Within this role, the successful applicant would work at maintaining and developing advanced practice skills, progress knowledge and competence as well as supporting others within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Clinical Supervision: We endeavour to provide ‘clinical supervision’ time to support your development.
  • Collaborative Care: The hospital at night team work collectively to provide safe, patient-centred care overnight. We value collaboration and work together as an advanced, welcoming and supportive team, working as ‘one group’ alongside all staff disciplines to support patients overnight.
  • Managerial Responsibilities: This role is unique allowing variation of managing the deteriorating patient, clinical emergency response as well as clerking the unscheduled patient. Managerial responsibilities for Senior Healthcare Support Worker team is another area of opportunity for experience.
  • Flexible Commitment: Despite working 3 nights a week, the self-rostering system can promote a healthy work/life balance. To ensure fairness within the team, colleagues are required to be in the position to commit to working flexibly across the 7 nights of the rota.
