Role Description
The Cladding Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. The role involves producing detailed cladding design drawings and 3D models, including elevations, sections, and fabrication details for systems such as re-clad, brick slips, SFS, and rendered façades. The designer will interpret architectural and structural drawings, coordinate with project managers, site teams, suppliers, and external consultants, and ensure designs comply with building regulations, fire safety requirements, and manufacturer specifications. - Preparing setting-out drawings

The Cladding Designer will also assist in value engineering, maintain accurate design documentation, and participate in design meetings to resolve technical issues.
Qualifications
- Strong background in façade or cladding design, with experience in systems such as brick slips, SFS, re-clad solutions, rendering, and associated fixings and interfaces.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and preferably BIM or 3D tools (e.g., Revit), with the ability to produce clear, accurate technical drawings and models.
- Solid understanding of UK building regulations, fire safety standards, and façade performance requirements, including detailing for weatherproofing, thermal performance, and structural integrity.
- Experience reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings, conducting site measure checks, and coordinating design information with project and site teams.
- Relevant technical or engineering qualification in construction, architecture, civil/structural engineering, or façade engineering (degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience).
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, manage deadlines, and respond constructively to design feedback.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to design coordination, quality assurance, and document control.
- Experience in UK cladding remediation or recladding projects and familiarity with major cladding and façade manufacturers is advantageous.
