Cladding Estimator – KGM Roofing (Permanent, Full-Time)
Established in 1956, Lindum Group are the most successful Construction company in the East Midlands, employing over 630 staff across sites and offices in Lincoln, Peterborough, and York. With specialisations in Maintenance, refurbishment, and New Build, we serve a diverse client base spanning private and public sectors.
Since 1977, KGM Roofing—part of the Lindum Group—has grown to offer a complete service: consultation, design, installation, and maintenance. Based in Peterborough, we deliver projects across the UK. Now, we are seeking an experienced Cladding Estimator to join our team.
About the Role
The Cladding Estimator will prepare accurate, competitive estimates for cladding, façade, roofing, rainscreen, insulated panel systems, and building envelope works. Key tasks include reviewing tenders, measuring quantities, liaising with suppliers/subcontractors, and supporting profitable project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cost estimates for specialist works, factoring in cladding systems, fixings, interfaces, access, logistics, and construction sequencing.
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, and employer requirements to clarify project scope.
- Perform take-offs, quantity measurements from drawings, digital models, and 3D schematics.
- Obtain, analyse, and synthesise quotations from suppliers/subcontractors to support pricing strategies.
- Prepare tender submissions, including pricing schedules, cost breakdowns, value-engineering reports, and clarifications.
- Engage with clients, architects, consultants, main contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure clarity and alignment.
- Conduct commercial risk assessments and document exclusions, assumptions, and opportunities before submission.
- Support post-contract takeover for successful tenders, furnishing cost information for delivery.
- Maintain estimating records, current supplier rates, pricing databases, and archived project performance data.
- Stay current with UK construction standards, health and safety, fire compliance, market rates, and best practice in cladding technology.

Requirements
Experience & Technical Skills
- Proven track record as an estimator in cladding, façade systems, roofing, curtain walling, rainscreen, or like-specialist subcontracting.
- Exceptional drawing interpretation skills (architectural, structural, façade system plans).
- Practical knowledge of cladding systems, fixings, interfaces, access/regress requirements, and construction sequencing nuances.
- Commercial awareness with precision in pricing accuracy and competitive positioning.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating/take-off software (e.g., BIM tools, Autodesk Quantum, CST, or equivalent).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills—achieving mutually beneficial outcomes with all stakeholder groups.
- Attention to detail balanced with ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders under pressure.
- Ability to work cop-effectiveness and independently within a collaborative team.

Qualifications (Desirable)
- Qualification in:
- Quantity Surveying
- Construction Management
- Building Surveying
- Engineering
- Architectural Technology
- Or related discipline.
- Equivalent industry experience in cladding/subcontracting/building envelopes valued as highly.
- Familiarity with UK construction standards (e.g., BS/CIBSE), health & safety (CDM), fire performance (UKBA), building regulations will be advantageous.
Role Details
- Location: KGM Roofing office, Fengate, Peterborough.
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 0800–1700.
- Contract Type: Permanent, full-time.
- Salary: Competitive (based on experience).
