This role is based full-time in our brand-new office in Chelmsford.

BACKGROUND/ ABOUT DCL
Direct Commercial are specialist commercial motor insurers with an award-winning Claims team. Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has become available for a Claims Adjuster – Third Party Injury to join our team.
The successful candidate would be based at our brand-new specialist Claims Hub in Chelmsford where no two days are the same! In the DCL Claims department, you will gain exposure to a variety of liability scenarios and, with the support of our team of 90, there is plenty of room for learning on the job. So, if you have private car claims experience or a background in commercial motor insurance and are looking for your next challenge, then this role is for you!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To pro-actively manage all aspects of a third-party claim from notification through to conclusion.
- Provide excellent claims handling service with minimal leakage, in accordance with company procedures and service standards.
- Accurately value injury claims and subsequent associated losses (loss of earnings/care etc).
- Ensure that claim reserves, payments and Large Movement Reports are calculated correctly and in accordance with company procedures and service standards.
- Investigate and resolve claims in a professional, timely, and pro-active manner.
- Manage and exceed customer expectations and prioritise work to resolve any disputes that may arise in the settlement of a claim.
- To create accurate Claims Management System records.
- Identify own training needs and to seek appropriate training to meet own performance targets.
- To ensure quality, service standards, and productivity levels are maintained to a high standard.
- To be supportive of change within the claims handling teams.
- Where appropriate, attend in-house and client review meetings.
- To assist with both internal & external auditing.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
SKILLS:
- In-depth knowledge of the Road Traffic Act and the Motor Insurers Bureau.
- Solid understanding of Small, Multi, and Fast track litigation process.
- Capable of investigating and negotiating liability disputes.
- Capable of negotiating credit hire and property damage claims.
- Capable of accurately assessing General Damages.
- Awareness of fraud tactics (identification, validation, and handling).
- Capable of managing multiple work streams and working within time scales and directed by the Court or line manager.
- Identify claims with the potential for financial deterioration.
- Confident in attending CMC or other settlement opportunities as required.
- Where required to act as a referral point for more inexperienced members of the department.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An understanding of the CRU Benefits system including the appeal process.

EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 12 months claims experience.
NB: Employment with Direct Commercial Ltd will be subject to background screening checks prior to your start date.
