Claims Advocate – Financial Lines

Leeds, London, Glasgow or Manchester | Hybrid Working

Aon is currently recruiting for a Claims Advocate – Financial Lines to join our UK Claims team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with claims experience who is looking to develop their career within Financial Lines. You will support clients with Professional Indemnity (PI), Directors' & Officers' (D&O), Crime, and Cyber claims alongside experienced Claims Advocates. This role offers exposure to large corporate and multinational programmes.

This role offers flexibility to be based from our Leeds, Manchester, London or Glasgow offices, with hybrid working also available. You'll join a collaborative and supportive team where you'll have the opportunity to develop your technical claims expertise, strengthen your client relationship skills and build your knowledge of the Financial Lines market.

As a Claims Advocate, you'll support clients through every stage of the claims journey, helping to deliver outstanding service and positive outcomes across a range of Financial Lines claims.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Handling a portfolio of Professional Indemnity, Directors' & Officers', Crime and Cyber claims for UK and multinational clients.
  • Supporting the handling of complex and strategic matters placed through the London Market Bureau.
  • Providing proactive and commercially focused claims support to clients.
  • Reviewing policy wordings and assisting clients with coverage and claims-related queries.
  • Liaising with insurers, brokers, legal representatives and internal stakeholders to progress claims efficiently.
  • Delivering clear and timely updates to clients throughout the claims lifecycle.
  • Setting and maintaining claims reserves in accordance with client and business requirements.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, markets and colleagues across the business.
  • Maintaining accurate claims records and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and FCA regulations.
  • Escalating complex claims where appropriate and supporting senior colleagues on strategic matters.
  • Assisting with client meetings, market discussions and claims presentations where required.
  • Contributing to team initiatives and sharing best practice across the Claims function.

Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success

We're looking for someone who can bring strong relationship-building skills, attention to detail and a passion for delivering great client outcomes.

Ideally, You'll Have

  • Previous claims handling experience within insurance.
  • Exposure to Financial Lines, Professional Indemnity, D&O, Crime, Cyber or other specialty claims would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly and confidently.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with clients, insurers and internal stakeholders.
  • Cert CII, Cert CILA or progress towards a professional insurance qualification would be advantageous.
  • A proactive and client-focused approach.
  • An understanding of FCA regulations and the importance of compliance and governance.
