Claims Advocate - Speciality Lines

Claims Advocate – Specialty Lines (Professional Indemnity, D&O, Crime and Cyber)

Aon Risk Solutions is looking for a Claims Advocate – Specialty Lines to join our UK Claims Team, working closely with multinational and large corporate clients.

This role will see you managing a dedicated portfolio of Professional Indemnity (PI), Directors & Officers (D&O), Crime and Cyber claims for both UK and international clients. You’ll also support the broader team on complex, strategic matters placed through the London Market Bureau.

Location: Hybrid working, based in Leeds, London or Manchester.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a portfolio of specialty claims, including PI, D&O, Crime and Cyber, and London Market Bureau claims.
  • Provide proactive, efficient, and commercially-focused claim resolution.
  • Deliver high-quality, day-to-day claims handling, strategic advice, and cross-product coordination.
  • Work within FCA guidelines, pre-action protocols, and established internal processes, especially for Bureau environment claims.
  • Set, maintain, and review appropriate claims reserves compliant with internal and client requirements.
  • Analyse policy wordings and advise clients on coverage and strategies to support effective claims submission.
  • Provide clear, timely and solutions-focused claim guidance.
  • Serve as the primary claims contact for assigned clients, building and maintaining trusted relationships.
  • Engage with clients, insurers, brokers, legal representatives, and cross-functional teams to streamline issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate electronic claim documentation and ensure audit readiness via data management.
  • Identify and escalate complex or high-value matters that require innovative strategic approaches.
  • Contribute to internal claims strategies and establish best practices for operational excellence.
  • Support client and market development by participating in key meetings (e.g., client presentations, market engagements).
  • Foster compliance with Aon UK policy guidelines, including risk management activities and mandatory training.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Client engagement skills, including rapport-building and expectation management.
  • 2–5 years experience in specialty claims handling, ideally within PI, D&O, Crime and/or Cyber claims.
  • Insight into London Market and Bureau processes, including claim arrangements and negotiation strategies.
  • Strong live and written communication skills—you must distil complex specialty claim issues into persuasive insights for clients and teams.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments, balanced with a disciplined and organised approach.
  • Proven stakeholder management across internal and client-facing interactions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset to prioritise and deliver high-quality claims outcomes within deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel).
  • Commercial negotiation skills to drive favorable settlements.
  • Commitment to earning ACII or CILA professional qualifications.
  • Adherence to FCA regulatory standards and adherence to documented processes.
  • Exceptional planning and organisational skills with meticulous attention to claim quality and delivery.
