Claims MI Analyst – Reinsurance

Type: 12 Month FTC
Salary - £65k
Role Overview
The Claims MI Analyst acts as the primary data and reporting partner for the Reinsurance Claims team. The role focuses on delivering management information (MI), reporting, analytics, and business insights that support better decision-making, operational performance, and data-driven working practices. You will work closely with Claims stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, develop Power BI dashboards, analyse claims data, resolve data quality issues, and promote the adoption of reporting and analytics across the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main MI and data contact for the Reinsurance Claims function.
- Gather business requirements and develop Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Analyse claims data to provide actionable business insights.
- Support claims-related projects with data expertise.
- Investigate and resolve data quality and reporting issues.
- Deliver training and promote data-driven decision-making across Claims teams.
- Work with SQL, Power BI, and Excel to create reporting solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and prioritise competing business requirements.
- Develop expertise in reinsurance claims processes and workflows.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into reporting solutions.
- Proven data analysis and insight generation experience.
- Strong SQL, Power BI, and Excel skills.
- Ability to investigate data issues and recommend solutions.
- Experience working with databases and large datasets.
- Team-player mentality with the ability to support and coach colleagues.
- Interest in emerging technologies, including AI and analytics tools.

Desirable Experience
- Understanding of the Reinsurance industry.
- Knowledge of Claims operations and workflows.
- Experience working within insurance or financial services.
