Direct Commercial are specialist commercial motor insurers with an award-winning Claims team. Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has become available for a Claims Audit Handler.
The successful candidate would be based at our office in Chelmsford where no two days are the same! In the DCL Claims department, you will gain exposure to a variety of liability scenarios and, with the support of our team of 100, there is plenty of room for learning on the job. So, if you have private car claims experience or a background in commercial motor insurance and are looking for your next challenge, then this role is for you!

Duties:
- Help maintain a suite of reports to monitor and manage audit progress in line with the audit plan.
- Conduct risk-based audits across the claims teams. Undertake internal and external audits and identify training needs.
- Ensure any audit / compliance-related objectives are provided as requested.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and provide feedback at all levels of the claims department.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Deliver clear, well-structured audit reports to team leaders and the Claims Management Team.
- Monitor implementation of agreed actions and track progress.
- Contribute to the development of the annual audit plan.
- Provide monthly reports / updates to the General Manager / Claims Director to evidence progression of the audit function and its findings.
- Undertaking ad-hoc projects and providing detailed reports delivered within agreed timescales.

Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Wide range of experience that touches on all areas of the claims department.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good Microsoft skills.
- Detailed knowledge of all claims processes.
- Capable of liaising with internal and external stakeholders in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
- The ability to work without guidance using their own initiative and without direct instruction.
- Excellent time management and workflow management skills.
- Capable of managing multiple work streams and working within timescales directed by the Court or line manager.
Required Experience:
- 12 months Third Party claims experience.
