Claims Consultant
Claims Consultant (Hove) – £25,000

About the Role
We’re recruiting Claims Consultants to join our Retail Protection Claims team in Hove, offering an annual salary of £25,000.
This customer-facing role involves supporting individuals with:
- New and ongoing life insurance claims
- Critical illness claims
You’ll work with customers, medical professionals, and internal teams to ensure smooth claim progression—through what can often be a sensitive and important time for policyholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Speak with customers about claims processes, answering queries and providing support
- Deliver empathetic, clear communication to vulnerable customers
- Liaise with:
- GPs, surgeries, and medical professionals
- Third-party organisations
- Internal Claims Assessors
- Work closely to progress claim tasks efficiently
- Keep customers informed throughout their claim journey
- Manage claim-related administration (accurate and timely recording)
- Identify complaints or concerns, escalating where needed
- Follow claims processes, compliance policies, and company guides

What We’re Looking For
- Customer service experience, preferably in a phone-based role
- Strong communication skills and confidence when speaking with customers
- Empathy for vulnerable individuals
- Organisational skills, able to prioritise workloads under pressure
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in recording
- Ability to stay calm and professional in stressful situations
- Experience working with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Interest in learning about:
- Claims processes
- Insurance products
- Customer financial journeys
