Role: Claims Consultant – Retail Protection Claims (Hove)

We’re recruiting Claims Consultants to join our Retail Protection Claims team in Hove, offering a starting salary of £25,000. This customer-facing role sees you support clients navigating and progressing new and ongoing life insurance & critical illness claims during emotionally sensitive moments.

Responsibilities

  • Customer engagement & empathy:
    • Communicate with customers throughout new and ongoing life insurance claims, demonstrating support, care, and clarity.
  • Coordination & escalation:
    • Liaise with GPs, surgeries, medical professionals, and external third parties to gather and manage claim-related information.
    • Work closely with Claims Assessors to ensure smooth progression of claim tasks.
    • Keep customers informed and updated at every stage of their process.
  • Admin & compliance:
    • Manage claim-related documentation accurately and efficiently.
    • Identify potential issues or complaints and escalate concerns appropriately.
    • Adhere strictly to claims guidelines, processes, and compliance requirements.

Requirements

Applicants should ideally demonstrate:

  • Customer service experience (preferably in phone-based roles).
  • Excellent communication, with confidence setting customers at ease across a range of sensitive topics.
  • A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting vulnerable individuals.
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Accurate attention to detail, ensuring compliance and error-free processing.
  • The ability to stay composed and professional under pressure.
  • Collaborative mindset, with ease working both internally and externally.
  • An interest in learning about claims processes, insurance products, and customer journeys.
