Claims Director

UK Wide with travel to London

A growing and entrepreneurial insurance business is seeking an experienced Claims Director to take ownership of its entire claims function across a specialist commercial motor portfolio, alongside wider commercial liability and property exposures.

This is a genuinely influential leadership role within a lean, commercially focused business where claims performance plays a critical part in underwriting profitability, customer outcomes, and long-term growth strategy.

The position will suit an individual who combines strong technical claims expertise with commercial awareness, operational oversight, and a highly hands-on approach.

Rather than managing a large in-house claims department, the successful individual will oversee all outsourced claims operations and third-party supplier relationships, ensuring performance, governance, and service standards are consistently achieved across the portfolio.

The Opportunity

This role requires someone capable of operating both strategically and operationally.

You will work closely with senior leadership, underwriting, and external partners, taking responsibility for claims philosophy, supplier management, governance frameworks, and performance analysis across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
