The Role – Claims Handler

Our Claims team at PIB Insurance Brokers are looking for an experienced Cross-Class Claims Handler to join their team in providing top-class service to all clients.

We are pleased to be considering applications from candidates across all four of Claims Hub locations - Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham & Chelmsford.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing the end-to-end claims process, from initial notification and investigation through to fair settlement, in line with policy terms and company guidelines.
  • Communicating clearly with customers and other parties, providing updates, resolving queries, and delivering a high standard of service.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal standards, including fraud identification and data protection.
  • Liaising with third parties and experts as needed to assess losses and negotiate timely, appropriate settlements.

What we’re looking for:

  • Robust experience in managing complex cross-class claims (Property & Casualty claims experience is a must-have!), with strong technical and analytical skills, and a solid knowledge of the insurance market, policy terms and coverage is essential for this role.
  • Holding relevant professional qualifications (e.g. Cert CII), or working towards this, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach and the ability to build rapport with stakeholders and seek guidance from senior colleagues when needed.
  • High attention to detail, discretion with sensitive information, and the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

What you'll get:

  • A salary package of up to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.

  • Hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office, 2 days at home once settled into the role.
