Senior Claims Handler – Care Claims Team

We're seeking a Senior Claims Handler to join our Leeds-based Care Claims team, progressing from internal roles. This position offers greater autonomy, varied high-impact cases, and clear career advancement opportunities.

Core Responsibilities

You’ll handle high-value, multi-line claims across:

  • Employers’ Liability (EL)
  • Public Liability (PL)
  • Professional Indemnity/Professional Negligence
  • Personal Injury
  • Management Liability, Cyber & Commercial Crime
  • Inquests & sensitive safeguarding cases

Key duties include:

  • Managing claims from initial notification to settlement
  • Developing personalized claims strategies
  • Collaborating with policyholders, brokers, and solicitors
  • Building strong client relationships for optimal outcomes
  • Receiving real decision-making authority, not just procedural direction

Essential Requirements

You must demonstrate:

  • Direct claims experience OR a legal background (solicitor/legal executive)
  • Exposure to Employers’ Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL), or liability claims
  • Personal Injury or professional negligence experience
  • Ability to manage complex cases independently
  • Strong communication and problem-resolution skills

Desirable Experience

Bonus qualifications include:

  • Claims-handling experience in insurance environments
  • Care/healthcare or sensitive claims background
  • Familiarity with multi-line claims handling
