About the Role
Sedgwick is seeking experienced Claims Investigators specialising in Motor, Employers’ Liability, and Public Liability claims to operate across the United Kingdom. This rewarding role combines varied casework with investigative rigor, supporting precise claims decisions across a broad spectrum.
Key focus areas:
- Deliver high-quality investigations for motor and liability cases
- Collaborate across the UK on a flexible, case-by-case basis
- Work independently with structured guidance, driven by exceptional judgement and professionalism
You will direct investigations from inception to conclusion, managing both straightforward and complex claims. This is a pivotal role—your expertise shapes industry standards and client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough investigations into motor, employers’ liability, and public liability claims
- Gather and assess evidence, including witness statements and documentation
- Identify inconsistencies or potential fraud indicators, applying procedural safeguards
- Interview stakeholders (policyholders, witnesses, third parties) in person or remotely
- Prepare compliant witness statements in adherence to the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)
- Draft detailed reports to support claims decisions within agreed deadlines
- Apply legal indemnity principles and ensure procedural compliance with case law
- Collaborate cross-team to streamline investigative processes
- Maintain confidentiality throughout all phases of investigation

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in motor claims investigation (essential)
- Knowledge of UK legislation, including road traffic act, civil procedure, and liability standards
- Principles of indemnity application in claims decision-making
- Adept at evidence evaluation, effectively writing reports, and using Third Party Reports (TPRs)
- Strong CPR knowledge for correct statement preparation
- Full UK driver’s licence and access to a work vehicle
Advantageous:
- Experience in employers’/public liability investigations
- Understanding of fraud detection and prevention
- Expertise in financial analysis for claims verification

- Modalities: PAYE or Permanent Status Contractor (PSC) arrangements; Full Self-Employed positions available
