Claims Specialist
Location: Cheltenham (Hybrid) Salary: Yearly: £26,000 – £30,000 Applications: Considered on a rolling basis
A dynamic role within a customer-centric business, where you will take ownership of structural warranty claims from start to finish. You’ll leverage your insurance claims expertise to provide professional, empathetic support to homeowners—many of whom may be vulnerable during the complex claims process.
Joining a collaborative and service-focused team, you’ll develop your technical skills while shaping positive customer experiences.
About the Role
This role involves managing latent defect insurance claims, addressing complex structural defects in new or recently completed homes. Unlike general perils claims, these cases require thorough investigation, clear communication, and a detailed understanding of policy coverage.
You’ll need:
- A proactive approach to claims management
- Exceptional empathy and communication skills
- Knowledge of claims processes, claims handling, and customer service best practices
- Independent decision-making with ethical integrity
Key Responsibilities
Customer-Centric Claims Management
- Manage the full claim lifecycle, from initial submission to final resolution.
- Ensure clear, empathetic communication at every stage, supporting vulnerable customers.
- Identify and respond sensitively to vulnerable claimants, tailoring support where needed.
- Provide strong first responses to new claims, resolving queries efficiently.
- Investigate claim details thoroughly, resolving inconsistencies fairly and transparently.
- Draft well-justified decision letters, including delicate rejections.
- Conduct Case Strategy Reviews (CSRs) for accepted claims, balancing technical and customer needs.
- Proactively manage claim progress without compromising quality.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
