About the Role

Have you built up solid experience behind the wheel of a Class 1 vehicle? Are you looking for a fresh challenge where your professionalism, customer service, and driving expertise are genuinely valued? Would you like to join a team where your driving expertise and commitment are genuinely valued?

Here at GXO Burton upon Trent we are looking for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our transport team, supporting our customer Hobbycraft. You'll play a key role in ensuring products are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time, while providing excellent service and representing both GXO and Hobbycraft to the highest standards.

Job Details

You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, on an 'Any 5 days from 7' pattern, contracted to 48 hours per week, with start times of 03:00 to 08:00 or 16:00 to 22:00. Choose what suits you best!

Please note, this role may occasionally require nights out and the successful candidate will be expected to stay away from home when required as part of the role.

  • An additional night shift premium for hours worked between 21:00 and 04:00

What You Will Do on a Typical Day

  • Carry out multidrop deliveries to Hobbycraft stores while collecting returns and ensuring all deliveries are completed safely and on time
  • Handle both palletised goods and cages, following safe loading and unloading procedures at all times
  • Maintain clear communication with the Transport Office and provide excellent customer service at every delivery point
  • Operate company vehicles safely, legally, and efficiently while ensuring all paperwork and driver records are completed accurately

What You Need to Succeed at GXO

  • Previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles is essential
  • Full UK driving licence with category C+E entitlement
  • Valid Driver Qualification and Digital Tachograph Cards
  • No more than 6 current penalty points
  • No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC, or TT99 endorsements
  • Willingness to complete occasional nights out and stay away from home as required by the role
